It was during the first week of December 2018. After participating in a series of election campaigns in Gajwel constituency, represented by Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, the then irrigation minister and Siddipet MLA T. Harish Rao rushed to Kodangal in Vikarabad district to participate in the campaign. It was the peak campaign period for Assembly elections and both ruling party and the opposition Congress were trying their best to win.

Mr. Harish Rao was entrusted the responsibility of ensuring defeat of TPCC working president A. Revanth Reddy and he succeeded. He also lived up to the responsibility of getting TRS party win at Gadwal where Congress senior leader and former minister D.K. Aruna was in fray. He was also given the task of ensuring TRS win in some 15 constituencies, which he managed.

Three months down the line the scene has changed. The ruling party, apparently out of compulsion, has accorded ‘Star campaigner’ status to Mr. Harish Rao. Interestingly, he is confined to Medak LS constituency consisting of seven Assembly segments.

“Harish Rao is a leader who is always on the move and it is even more during election. But now, he is confined only to Medak Lok Sabha seat. We are unable to digest this but we are helpless,” commented a TRS leader on condition of anonymity.

However, on his part, Mr. Harish Rao has been making all out efforts to see that party candidate Kotha Prabhakar Reddy wins with the highest majority.
