No importance to women in TRS and BJP govts: Congress

The state (TRS) and central (BJP) governments  give no importance to women, said TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy at a training session held by the party’s women’s wing on the occasion of Women’s Day on Friday. The Congress always gives importance to women and the credit of giving first woman Prime Minister to the country is also ours. The Congress has been under the leadership of a woman for many years. Telangana state is the only state in the country to have no woman minister in the Cabinet,” he said.

Leader of Opposition Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said, “Women should be given equal importance in the government. The Congress always encouraged women by taking them into the Cabinet.”

Former Union minister S. Jaipal Reddy said that the Congress has given property rights to the women in the country. He said, “The RSS protested against giving property rights to women. The BJP brought in several changes to women’s rights by following the footsteps of the Congress.”
