TRS leaders on Monday slammed TPCC chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy for terming IT minister K.T. Rama Rao as a ‘bachcha’ in politics and for saying that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s family had no right to continue in public life after indulging in heavy corruption during the last four years.  TRS Lok Sabha member Balka Suman, MLAs K. Prabhakar Reddy, Dasari Manohar, MLC Ramulu Naik and minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav held separate press conferences to condemn Mr Uttam’s remarks against the CM and his family members.

Mr Balka Suman said Mr Rama Rao might be junior in politics, but he was senior in his sincerity and commitment towards Telangana. “People will decide who should continue in public life. It is not for Mr Uttam Reddy to decide. Mr Rama Rao was elected thrice from Siricilla as MLA. He came into the Legislative Assembly with a clear mandate from the people and did not gain entry through the backdoor. He is an elected member and not nominated to the legislature. He played an active role in the Telangana agitation and faced police cases and lathi charge. Show us one instance where Mr Rahul Gandhi fought like Mr Rama Rao for any cause for Telangana,” Mr Suman asked.

Challenging Mr Uttam Reddy to submit at least one proof for the corruption charges levelled against the CM and his family members, he said “In the last four years, we have demanded proof numerous times but there has been no response from Congress leaders. They should not take our tolerance for granted.”

Mr Prabhakar asked Mr Uttam Reddy and other Congress leaders to immediately get their eye tests done through the Kanti Velugu scheme as they could not see the development taking place under the TRS government during the last four years. “IT and industries minister Mr Rama Rao has been working day and night to attract big investments to Telangana. Due to his efforts, Hyderabad’s brand value has increased phenomenally across the globe. We saw how he handled major international summits last year when Ivanka Trump visited Hyderabad. People from all states are posting their opinion on social media wishing that they had an IT minister like KTR,” he said.

Mr Naik said Mr Rama Rao was not ‘bachcha’ but ‘achcha’ in Indian politics and termed Uttam Reddy as ‘luchcha’. “Uttam Reddy was caught red-handed burning crores of rupees, meant for distribution to voters during the 2014 elections, in his vehicle near a polling booth. He has no moral right to level corruption charges against KCR and his family members,” he added.
