New CP to make city more safe

Hyderabad: Additional DGP of Hyderabad, Anjani Kumar, was on Sunday appointed as the new Commissioner of Police for Hyderabad.

Speaking to this newspaper, Mr Kumar said that it is a very very responsible post and expressing his gratitude to the Chief Minister. “I will be responsible and make sure that the people of city are safe and secure. More emphasis will be given to the weaker and the poor sections of society. I am sure we, as a team, will deliver a citizen-friendly policing and will cater to the needs of the 80 Lakh people” he said.

Talking about his career, Mr Kumar said, “I grew up professionally in an atmosphere where Left wing terrorism was at its peak in central India. From my first assignment 26 years ago, till I was made chief of Greyhounds, fighting Maoists terrorism was a major concern.”
